Marshall Elementary School, an Arts & Science Magnet Public School, is planning a complete playground remodel.
The goals of the playground remodel are a fully accessible and sustainable outdoor ecosystem classroom and play area that emphasizes Flagstaff's local ecology and global environmental principles of biological communities, climate change and conservation. This project is to include a new child drop-off area, a 1/4 mile walking path of pervious materials, a stormwater collection and irrigation system, a young children's 'secret garden', and a small playing field of native grass or artificial turf.
