Leupp Elementary School is the only school located on the Navajo reservation that is a part of Flagstaff Unified School District #1. We are located northeast of Flagstaff, AZ about a 45 minute drive from the Flagstaff Mall. Our students come from the local communities of Leupp, Birdsprings and Tolani Lake Chapter. Our schools community spans 40 miles in each direction. If you're interested in visiting our school, you are welcome to sign in at the front office and recieve a visitor's badge as well as some directions to navigating our building. We also have on location our very own Traditional Navajo Hogan ("ho gawn") from the efforts of our former Administrator, Mrs. Louise Scott.
You can find us on the south side of the highway on your into Leupp. We are the most substantial property at the moment in the community. Across the street from our location is the community boarding school "Leupp Schools Incorporated" (L.S.I.) currently in reconstruction. Our community population is about 6000. Our total school enrollment hovers between 200 and 300. We recieve students that have relocated from Flagstaff and students from the neighboring schools like Little Singer School (Birdsprings), Leupp Schools Inc., and the Star school located just beyond the boundaries of the Navajo Reservation on Hwy 15. Our school is an Open enrollment school. Leupp has a Indian Health Care Clinic in the community open for regular doctor visits during the week.
