MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
The magnet concept at Marshall Elementary is entering its seventh year. Our magnet is termed “Academics Plus.” Marshall’s educational program dedicates itself to the whole child by providing a strong academic curriculum, an extensive art and music program, an expanded science program and an all important citizenship education program. In a standards based world, Marshall Elementary gives students the opportunity to develop a strong sense of confidence in their capabilities as life-long learners and contributing participants in our democratic society.
As a part of our yearly orientation material, each family should have received an information packet regarding Marshall’s Character and Citizenship Development Plan and a Family Contract. This agreement serves as the foundation for the behavior expectations of our students at Marshall School. It is our most sincere hope that students, staff and families can flourish in an environment that embraces responsibility, courtesy and respect. In order to help ensure the success and safety of each student, I am asking you as a family, to please take the time to review the school handbook with your child. Please particularly focus on the Character and Citizenship Guidelines and Expectations found on the inside cover of this booklet and the Message to Students about their Rights and Responsibilities. Each student must understand that their behavior and attitude makes an important difference in the educational success for all at Marshall Elementary.
I often have people tell me how warm and welcoming Marshall School is. I believe that you will find that to be the case! Our educators at Marshall are extremely dedicated to students and work very hard. Feel free to call me at 773-4030 or email me at szanzucchi@fusd1.org
It is my sincere wish that each child has a happy and productive learning experience this school year. Remember, parents are our most important partners in a child’s education. I look forward to working with you and invite you to join us at Marshall as a much needed parent volunteer. I appreciate your support and cooperation. I am looking forward to a rewarding and productive school year for us all.
