Strings Program
Directed by Mrs. Tammy Rauschenbach, the Marshall Strings are two groups of beginning and intermediate strings players on violin, viola, cello and even string bass. Students are given the option during the fifth grade year of learning a band or strings instrument, and we begin performance material very early in the year in preparation for a November concert. Intermediate students are also involved in events around the community and state, including the Flagstaff Medical Center lighting ceremony, a trip to Prescott for a Veterans' Day performance at the Veterans' Administration hospital, and a trip to the Phoenix area to hear the Phoenix Symphony. Many of the students continue to play at the middle and high school level and may someday receive a college scholarship on their chosen instruments.
