It is important for all students to be able to discuss the academic information learned. The more students speak the language, the more confident they are to become proficient speakers. Not only will they continue to learn more about the English language, but they will also know more about the content studied. Besides student-teacher conversations, there are other methods for interaction. Using writing journals, group discussions, interaction games and technology, students are able to communicate with other students within their own classes, their school and other students |
* Frequent opportunities for interaction and discussion between teachers/students and among students, which encourage elaborated responses about lesson concepts
* Grouping configurations support language and content objectives of lesson
* Sufficient wait time for students responses consistently provided
* Ample opportunities for students to clarify key concepts on L1 as needed with aide or peer
