FUSD BOND PROJECTS

BOND PROJECTS AS ASSETS

  • Construction or improvements of any type increases the value of a school or department site. Therefore, costs of most projects will be recorded as assets at particular sites.

  • Projects costing $3,000 or more (or, equipment and vehicles costing more than $1,000) are recorded as expenditures and placed on an Asset inventory for the site where the construction project was done or the equipment/ vehicle was placed. (Required by Arizona State law and Flagstaff Unified School District policy).

  • Projects costing $3,000 or more are recorded on a site's inventory in categories: Land Improvements, Building Improvements and/or purchased equipment.

  • Projects costing less than $3,000 are recorded as expenditures but are not required to be on any site's inventory. However...

  • The Project Manager, based at the Maintenance Department, will be the controller who keeps full records of all aspects of each Bond Project and the related expenses- especially costs of each project and its expenditures that fall below $3,000. Any Bond questions or concerns should be directed to the FUSD Administration and the FUSD Project Manager.

  • All Bond Projects have an individual Purchase Order which initiates the project. All payments for a particular project or purchase are invoiced and recorded on its own Purchase Order.

Categories of Projects

  • Land Improvements will involve projects that work to repair, upgrade or add to the property outside of the school buildings.
  • Building Improvements involve any work done to the outside or inside of the physical buildings at the different District schools and departments.
